Virginia M. “Bea” Stegemoller, 83, of Olean passed away at 4:40am Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg. She was born at Hazard in Perry County, Kentucky on August 14, 1932 the daughter of Lawrence and Viola Stidham Jones. She was married to Harold Stegemoller on November 23, 1957 and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2015. Survivors include two sons Brian (Marilyn) Stegemoller of Allen, Texas and John (Malinda) Stegemoller of Canaan; one daughter Linda (Scott) Estes of LaGrange, Kentucky; 9 grandchildren along with Brayden and Ella Hurelbrink who considered Bea their grandmother, and 3 great-grandchildren; four brothers Don (Gloria) Jones of Petaluma, California, Jim (Joyce) Jones of Burlington, Kentucky, Leonard Jones of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Ron (Jackie) Jones of Friendship. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul Jones, and her sister Bobbi Hurelbrink. Mrs. Stegemoller was a former employee of the Delaney Wood Heel factory in Versailles and was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and scrapbooking and for many years was known as the Olean community babysitter having kept children for family and many neighbors. Bea was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church at Olean. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28th at 11am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean with Pastor Curtis Black and Rev. Sherman Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3pm to 7pm at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10am until time of services Monday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Friendship Fire Department, St. Paul Cemetery, or Matt’s Mission in care of the funeral home.
